We have a restored 1962 Galaxie Sports Roadster Sunliner here at Adventure Classics that is finished in the factory colors it was born wit per the Trim Tag, the highly sought after Rangoon Red with a red interior and powered by a 390 cubic inch V-8 engine.
Engine & Drivetrain Ford launched its Total Performance program in 1961 with this Galaxie 390 cubic inch V8 engine under the hood and continued it in 1962.
Ours looks as new as it was the day it was built sitting in the immaculate painted and detailed engine compartment with all the right plumbing, hoses, the red FOMOCO windshield washer water bag sitting on the passenger inner fender, and decals.
The engine has so many great features like the red painted valve covers and correct red air cleaner, factory cast iron exhaust and dual exhaust system, power steering and power brakes, new battery, chrome radiator top, and backed by an automatic transmission.
Era-type updates enhance its image as a boulevard cruiser, for example, stainless-steel fender skirts, chrome dual tailpipes and chrome wire wheels with spinner hubcaps and radial whitewall tires.
