Vehicle Description 1967 Pontiac GTO Car History We have a frame-on restored real #242 VIN code 1967 Pontiac GTO hardtop here at Adventure Classics with a period correct WT stamped 400 cubic inch engine rated at 335 horsepower.
It is finished in silver with a black vinyl top over a black interior and has the three-speed automatic transmission.
Engine & Drivetrain The 400 cubic inch V8 engine is equipped with a four-barrel carburetor and was rated at 335 horsepower when new and still looks just as it did when it left the showroom with its Pontiac blue painted block, chrome valve covers, aluminum intake, cast iron exhaust headers, chrome open-element air cleaner assembly, power steering and brakes, air conditioning, with all the other factory appearing stock engine parts and hoses.
The appearance of the engine compartment is exceptional too as it is clean, detailed and painted correctly and the engine stamping shows it to be a WT code to match the 400 cubic inch V8 equipped with a four-barrel carburetor.
Power is sent to the rear wheels via a three-speed automatic transmission it is fitted with the dual exhaust system.
Interior The factory twin front bucket seats are trimmed in black vinyl with matching rear seat, carpets and door panels, black dash pad and woodgrain dash veneer.
Equipment includes factory-installed air conditioning, Rally clock, all the factory gauges including the factory tach, center console with woodgrain trim housing the Hurst His-N-Her Dual Gate shifter, a factory pushbutton radio, a wood and polished sports steering wheel, and GTO floor mats too.
Exterior Our GTO has a repainted Silver Glaze exterior paint job at which time the black vinyl roof was also redone.
Styling elements of these 1967 GTO's include louvered taillight covers, chrome bumpers, and the iconic GTO hood scoop.
It has painted Rally II wheels that wear chrome trim rings and mounted with BF Goodrich Raised White Letter Radial TA performance tires at all four corners.
Handling is great as you could expect from these GTO's with power-assisted steering and brakes that were optioned from the factory.
Conclusion The restored real #242 VIN code 1967 Pontiac GTO hardtop we have here at Adventure Classics with a period correct WT stamped 400 cubic inch engine rated at 335 horsepower is a super looking and running real GTO.
