Vehicle Description 1960 Buick Invicta Car History The Buick Invicta was a full-size automobile produced by Buick from 1959 to 1963.
The Invicta was a continuation of the Buick Century concept that mated the standard size Buick LeSabre body with Buick's larger 401 cubic inch Nailhead V8 engine, yielding what was referred to as the banker's hot rod.
The Invicta name was derived from Latin and signified 'unconquerable, invincible, unbeatable, unvanquished' according to Buick Motor Division sales training materials.
Adventure Classics has a completely restored and very desirable original 1960 Buick Invicta 4 Door Hardtop with the Buick Wildcat 401 cubic inch engine that had a whopping 325 horsepower back then.
Engine & Drivetrain This is a beautiful 1960 Buick Invicta 4 door sedan with the 401 cubic inch 4 barrel 325 horsepower HV8 engine with dual exhausts.
It has what appears to be all the correct factory parts and accessories on this engine including the WILDCAT black painted air cleaner system, red painted engine block, intake, and valve covers, 4-barrel carb, power steering, power brakes, and air conditioning.
This car was one rare blend of size and performance before the muscle car era! The Buick Invicta was arguably Buick's first performance car.
The engine is matched to the Turbine Drive Automatic transmission with the power going to the ground via the steel factory wheels with wide-whitewall tires and factory chrome hubcaps to give it the right Buick look.
Interior The beautifully restored interior is finished in red and white on the front bench seat and matching rear seat with red carpet and red & white door panels to match.
It is loaded with power steering, power brakes, Buick radio, deluxe steering wheel, padded instrument panel, electric clock, heater & defroster, automatic trunk light, deluxe wheel covers, Exterior Stunning is all I can say about the exterior paint in its red and white paint scheme and its body style that is classy and attractive.
GM's cars were the first to reflect the influence of Bill Mitchell, Harley Earl's successor as corporate design chief and Mitchell made sure the line included Invicta's trio of portholes on the front fenders, This particular 1960 Buick Invicta 4 Door Hardtop example is in very fine condition and looks extremely impressive with a beautiful repaint.
Conclusion This is a rare opportunity to own a great daily driving and restored example of a 1960 Buick Invicta 401/325HP V8 4 Door Hardtop that we have here at Adventure Classics.
