Vehicle Description 1956 Chevrolet Bel Air Car History The Chevrolet Bel Air was a full-size car produced by Chevrolet for the 1950-1981 model years.
Initially only the two door hardtops in the Chevrolet model range were designated with the Bel Air name from 1950 to 1952, as distinct from the Styleline and Fleetline models for the remainder of the range.
The 1956 Bel Air back then received a face-lift with a more conventional full-width grille, pleasing those customers who didn't favor the Ferrari-inspired '55 front end.
Distinctive two-tone bodyside treatments and graceful front and rear wheel openings completed the speedline restyling.
The Red/White 1956 Chevrolet Bel Air we have here at Adventure Classics has been restored back to the factory stock look with period correct engine, interior, and paint job.
Engine & Drivetrain To begin with, the engine in this sharp 56 is a 265 cubic inch small Block Chevrolet that has a factory Chevrolet intake with a 4-barrell carb, factory cast iron exhaust manifolds, body colored Chevrolet valve covers, chrome air cleaner, and sits in a clean and painted engine compartment.
It is backed by the factory original PowerGlide transmission and rides on great white letter Cooper Cobra GTS performance tires with Cragar SS 5-spoke mag wheels.
It also sounds great with the dual exhaust system running out the back of the car thru the chrome custom exhaust tips.
Interior When you open the door you will find a gorgeous red and black factory stock appearing brand new two-tone black/red interior consisting of the matching bench seat in front and full seat in the rear and door panels, red dash with an assortment of factory and accessory gauges, AM/FM stereo radio (in the glove box), great stainless dash trim, red and polished steering wheel, black carpets, and the column mounted shifter.
Exterior Our 56 has a great combination of Matador Red and Adobe Beige paint and certainly looks the part.
Thanks to their killer curves of the Bel Air family really lend themselves to the paint and it looks great with great chrome and glass as you can see in the pictures.
The body lines are great and include the styling cues that make this Tri-Five look so good.
Single housings incorporated the taillight, stoplight, and backup light, and the left one held the gas filler to really ad to this 56's aesthetics.
