Brief History of AAR:
The Plymouth AAR Cuda is unique in many ways, and all are well known to the modern collector community.
A single-year release, the AAR was offered in the first season for the brand's new E-body release, a major change from the former Valiant-platform based Barracuda A-body model.
The AAR Cuda received an exclusive 340 CI powerplant that featured three 2-barrel Holley carburetors and special cylinder heads designed to be ported more than normal.
The purpose-built nature was expensive to produce, but it was offered that year as the result of needing to homologate components for the popular SCCA Trans Am racing series, spearheaded from Plymouth by sports car legend Dan Gurney.
