OPS Advanced Practice Registered Nurse Specialist
The Clearwater Center has an opening for an OPS Advanced Practice Registered Nurse Specialist.
The successful applicant will be responsible for providing comprehensive prenatal and postpartum care to clients at the Clearwater Center.
Your
Responsibilities:
- Prescribe medication dosages, routes, and frequencies
- Order, perform, interpret and/or evaluate the results of diagnostic tests
- Analyze and interpret patient histories, symptoms, physical findings, or diagnostic information to develop appropriate diagnoses.
- Develop treatment plans based on scientific rationale, standards of care, and professional practice guidelines.
- Diagnose or treat acute health care problems such as illnesses, infections, or injuries.
- Prescribe medications based on efficacy, safety, and cost as legally authorized.
- Counsel patients about drug regimens and possible side effects or interactions with other substances such as food supplements, over-the-counter (OTC) medications, or herbal remedies.
- Recommend interventions to modify behavior associated with health risks.
- Educate patients about self-management of acute or chronic illnesses, tailoring instructions to patients' individual circumstances.
- Prescribe or recommend medications or other forms of treatment.
- Makes appropriate referrals as needed
- Coordinate patient care activities with physician and/or involved staff.
- Instruct on topics such as health education and disease prevention.
- Ensure cooperation and coordination between Clinical Services Division, Disease Control and other divisions regarding clinical issues.
- Comply with HEDIS measure, Meaningful Use standards, productivity standards, and selected goals for quality of care.
Required Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:
- Knowledge of human anatomy and physiology

Qualifications:
Minimum-
- Clear and active license in the state of Florida to practice as an APRN
- Three or more years of experience as an APRN providing comprehensive prenatal and postpartum care
- Current clear and active Florida Nursing License or a multistate license from another compact State
Preferred-
- At least one year experience working with an electronic medical record
- Experience working in a public health setting
