Overview
Within the Employee Relations Center (ERC), the Advisors report to a Sr. Mgr., Employee Relations and are responsible for providing telephonic coaching and guidance to people managers and employees across the United States. The support from the ERC covers a wide variety of areas including questions regarding employee relations, policy interpretation, disciplinary actions and investigations.
This team will serve Tech Data team members by ensuring prompt and fair resolution of grievances, as well as a work environment free of discriminatory practices. Each Advisor will oversee prompt and effective resolution of employee relations concerns, including investigations of Title VII complaints, EEOC charges, and other concerns of unfair treatment. Advisors will ensure accurate tracking, documentation, and management of employee relations cases.
The ERC Advisors drive consistent practices with respect to disciplinary actions across the organization, and provide information and guidance regarding company policies and applicable laws and regulations. Advisors will be responsible for sharing on-call duties on a rotating basis with others on the ERC team.
The Advisor will provide support for Tech Data locations and team members throughout the U.S. via phone. These roles will require minimal travel to the field locations, primarily when on-site investigations are necessary.
On occasion, the Advisor will support field training needs around building manager/supervisor capabilities in areas of expertise such as prevention of harassment, and delivery of disciplinary decisions or performance feedback.
Success in this role will be enabled by strong employee relations experience, investigation experience, and coaching managers with respect to performance and disciplinary issues. Having worked within a centralized employee relations team for a larger company is a plus. Strong communications skills and the ability to effectively handle confidential information are critical to this role.
Because our Advisor, Employee Relations will be the subject matter experts in fair employment practices throughout the U.S., they will have the opportunity to enhance and deepen their knowledge of EEOC regulations as well as federal and state employment laws. Advisors will also garner broad business acumen of the company through communications and support of all divisions within the U.S.
Essential Duties & Responsibilities Required
Experience:
5 years or more of relevant employee relations experience.
Certifications:
PHR/SPHR or SHRM-CP certifications preferred.
Skills:
Complex problem solving, critical thinking, judgment and decision making, negotiations, active listening, persuasion, strong written and verbal skills.
Ability to communicate human resource comcepts and processes to a broad range of employees and management.
Bi-lingual in English & Spanish a plus

The check will bounce and the victim is left responsible.
