Construction Project Sr Manager

GENERAL
Summary:
The Senior Project Manager, acting as the Owner's Representative, is directly responsible for the successful completion of construction projects, with a heavy emphasis on healthcare construction, within the established project budget and schedule.
The Sr.
PM's responsibility for the project starts during the planning/design phase, through bidding/award/construction/closeout phase, and into the warranty period with a successful transition to maintenance/operations.
Sr.
PM is responsible for understanding the project limitations and expectations, particularly regarding budget and schedule, and clearly communicating and holding the team accountable to meet these expectations.
Sr.
PM shall routinely document the project status and provide updates to leadership throughout the course of the project.
Sr.
PM must have a demonstrated ability to manage multiple projects and teams ensuring secure, safe, and environmentally sound operations that support the TGH's infection prevention protocols through the functional use of ICRA Infection Control Risk Assessment tools including containment, exhaust, HEPA filtration, and monitoring techniques for patient safety, and contractor's compliance with established project specific interim life safety measures.
Sr.
PM is required to adhere to standard protocols for use of project management software including Procore and MS Project.
This specifically includes routinely updating the project information and providing summaries throughout each phase of the project.
Must have thorough knowledge and understanding on how to accurately manage total project cost projections throughout the course of the project.
Must have the ability to interpret construction drawings/specifications, and construction contracts.
This position periodically requires after-hours and/or weekend availability to support construction projects through critical healthcare operations.
The Sr.
PM reports to Director of Construction Services.
Responsible for performing job duties in accordance with mission, vision, and values of Tampa General Hospital.
Qualifications
Qualifications:
Education:
Bachelor's degree in architecture, civil engineering, construction management, business administration, or relevant field.
Experience:
Six (6) years of related experience in facilities planning, construction maintenance management, finance, & operations involving Medical Healthcare institutional/commercial projects.
Must have experience in managing healthcare projects more than $5M.
Proficiency using Procore or similar, MS Project, and other Microsoft products.
Strong organizational skills are required to work on multiple simultaneous dissimilar activities.
Attention to detail and the ability to work well in group and solo situations are required.
Advanced knowledge experience of state, federal and local laws, regulations, and policies; healthcare facilities planning; and current building codes and compliance guidelines with regulatory agencies (OSHA, JCAHO, AHCA, etc.
) regarding applicable codes & practices for hospital/healthcare facilities management; specifically Interim Life Safety Measures (ILSM), Infection Prevention protocols are required.
Successful experience obtaining an ASHE - Certified Healthcare Facility Manager (CHFM) and/or applicable trade certification designation is preferred.
Technical and professional areas of healthcare specific project management experience, Active Licensed General Contractor, or MBA is preferred.
