This will take a professional who has top legal executive skills and the ability to communicate with all levels of management, legal assistants, attorneys, and clients.
Oversee and manage the daily operations of the legal department Provide guidance and support to legal staff, including paralegals and administrative assistants Develop and implement departmental policies and procedures Ensure compliance with all applicable laws, regulations, and ethical standards Review and draft legal documents, including contracts, agreements, and policies Manage relationships with external counsel and other legal service providers Performs Paralegal/Legal Assistant duties on a limited basis.
Assembles documents and responds to requests.
Prepares Agendas and documents for meetings.
Schedules and maintains Managing Attorneys calendar for meetings, hearings and all deadlines.
Manages and supervises hiring, training, performance and discipline of legal staff.
Fosters a climate that motivates the legal staff.
Approves payroll, coordinates the budgeting and reporting for the department.
Monitors outside vendor and counsel expenses.
Establishes, maintains and evaluates office procedures, technology and other systems.
Administers and maintains legal document management programs.
Manages office space, equipment and vendors.
Prepares reports and presentations to Managing Attorneys.
Performs other duties as assigned.
Requirements Bachelor's Degree plus five years of professional level experience, preferable in a managerial role in a law office.
Proven experience as a Legal Manager or similar role Strong knowledge of legal principles and practices Excellent communication and interpersonal skills Ability to manage multiple tasks and prioritize effectively Proficient in using office software, such as Microsoft Word, Excel, and PowerPoint Strong organizational skills with attention to detail This position offers competitive compensation based on experience.
