Position Description:
Nurse Helper I The Nurse Helper I is a non-clinical member of the healthcare team who assists the nursing staff in the delivery of patient care according to BayCare role specific responsibilities.
Directed by the RN.
The Nurse Helper I assists with patient care without encountering any body fluids (i.
e.
, blood, urine, stool, saliva, dirty linens, emesis, etc.
) or any devices that contain body fluids (such as but not limited to, urinary catheters, nasogastric tubes, drains, used basins, etc.
).
Must complete Nurse Helper training class prior to orientation on the nursing unit.
Requires completion of BLS (Basic Life Support) certification within 30 days of hire.
Standard WELLE training is required.
