Provides direct patient care under the direction and supervision of an RN or LPN.
Required Certification includes Basic Life Support from American Heart Association, American Red Cross, or Military Training Network.
Minimum requirements include 6 months acute care experience or 1-year Skilled Nursing Facility experience or a BayCare approved Nurse Assistant/ PCT program; or BayCare PCT Boot Camp if attended a Nursing Assistant program without clinical hands on patient care experience; or completion of Nursing Fundamentals from an RN or LPN Program; or EMT certification / Paramedic license for ER only.
If no experience/training in sterile technique; insertion and removal of urinary catheters, and IV reseal removal ? a BayCare PCT Course and accompanying competencies must be completed within 90 days of hire.
