Manager of Instrumentation and Controls

Great opportunity in Southeatern US as Manager of Instrumentation and Controls for a successful ESOP engineering company focused on the water/wastewater industry.
The objective of this position is to accelerate the growth and development of a successful Instrumentation and Controls consulting group in the Water/Wastewater Industry while managing current operations successfully.

The Manager will have responsibility for a business unit with annual revenues of $2.5 M +. The current geographic area served includes Florida, Georgia, North Carolina and Virginia. The responsibilities will include managing the operation profitably while growing revenue at a rate exceeding 15% per year. The Manager will oversee services the group performs directly for clients and as part of in-house project teams, direct new business development activity, and will oversee project delivery and client satisfaction.

The current staff consists of professional civil and electrical engineers, project managers, designers, and PLC/HMI programmers. The Manager will be directly involved in recruiting, hiring and developing the staff for the business unit, will function as Client Manager/Project Manager on occasion, and will have direct interaction with Clients and other Company personnel.

Ideal Educational Background:
B.S. Electrical Engineering, NC or FL PE license, formal business education and/or experience in financial management of a consulting electrical/instrumentation group required.

Experience Requirements:
Experience in the water and wastewater field including instrumentation & controls design SCADA systems planning and design, control systems integration, and PLC and HMI programming.
Successful candidates will have direct experience in the marketing and sales generation of these types of services to municipal and industrial customers with demonstrated capability to present a professional image to clients and the public.
Must have considerable experience managing project teams and business units performing these types of services and demonstrate the level of decisiveness and directness needed to effectively lead professional and technical staff toward completion of project and business unit goals.
Success requires communication, perception and social skills necessary to genuinely motivate and direct the staff to produce high quality work, to maintain high individual and group morale, and to promote diversity.
Similar experience in industrial markets will be considered a plus.Estimated Salary: $20 to $28 per hour based on qualifications.
