The support teacher assists the Lead Teacher in all daily functions to ensure the classroom runs appropriately.
Teaching small groups, helping with classroom management, and general supervision are the primary responsibilities of the support teacher.
Supporting the Lead Teacher is the primary responsibility of the support teacher.
Classroom supervision in the absence of the Lead Teacher is a task that the support teacher must conduct occasionally.
Support Teachers will be required to teach small groups of students planned by or with the Lead Teacher.
Support teachers may need them to help grade papers, make copies, etc.
Support Teachers must attend classroom meetings held weekly with the Lead Teacher.
They may also be required to participate in conferences and other required training programs.
The Lead Teachers carry out various activities that lead to children's emotional, intellectual, and social development; the Support Teacher should also help successfully conduct these activities.
Support Teachers will be required to cover non-academic times such as PE, recess, and lunchroom duties, as discussed with the Lead Teacher.
Support teachers must help with the car line and may attend field trips.
Support Teachers will report any issues or concerns to the Lead Teacher in case of observance of problems with children.
The Lead teacher is responsible for students' overall behavior plan and discipline.
The support teacher may correct inappropriate behavior following the school-wide/classroom-wide or individualized behavior plan.
The Support Teacher will also help maintain a neat and clean environment, including but not limited to the classroom, common areas, such as the workroom and copy area, bathrooms, lunchroom, and playground area.
